| Further Information: Adults are black, with tufts of pale hairs on parts of the face (the facial fovea) and other areas of the body. The wings have a bluish reflections in sunshine Andrena agilissima feeds on the pollen of plants in the family Brassicaceae, such as Field Mustard. (Ocassionaly, it can be seen on other plant families such as Resedaceae, specifically on Reseda alba in the images below.) Females of the same generation can share the same nest, dug on sandy soil, on the damp areas or steep walls. Nests have a common entrance, but each individual has its own brood cells with its egg. |
